Ahhh! Now that my messages are finally reaching the list (thanks to the
helpful listmaster) I will briefly introduce myself. I've been a subscriber
just a couple of weeks and reading. I've been playing harp casually for
forty years. MIA from about 1988 to 2005. Now with career in a stable if
not winding down mode, I'm taking it more seriously. I've played out some
over the years at jams and with bands - never as a band member. Thanks to
all the wonderful resources on the internet, I'm doing tutorials, obtaining
jam tracks, and finding community.
I've always used Marine Bands, Special 20s, and Blues Harps. I'm trying out
other brands now and one tier higher and quite pleasantly surprised at the
difference. I'm liking the Manjii, the Promaster, and Soul's Voice so far.
I've had a Green Bullet 520D, bought new in the 80's. It has been with Greg
Heumann for his magic as has a Zoo 2 I won on eBay and had shipped directly
to him.
Starting with a regular Sunday night jam at a club here in Anchorage. About
the only regular opportunity for that in this harp impoverished town (maybe
I'll find more players in time).
Anyway.. Enjoying the heck out of my rediscovered passion.
Glad to be here.... Pete in Alaska
